Doris Elaine Mahony's Obituary
Doris Mahony, born 7-30-1924 in Baldwin, Long Island, New York, resided in Largo since 1970. Survived by sons Gary and Dwayne, and daughter Judy. Predeceased by first son and daughter, Ron and Joanne. Also survived by her sisters Carol, Joan, and Ruth. Doris was a graduate of NY State University College at Plattsburg, NY. Having taught elementary school in both NY and Pinellas county she was a life-long educator, continuing to tutor after retirement. Doris was a member of St. Paul United Methodist church since 1970, where she was active in various capacities, including making great use of her mastery of sewing. Doris followed the example set by her parents, and instilled those values of education, strong work ethic, and faith into her children, and her thousands of students. The lives touched cannot be measured; her impact will live on in future generations. Gathering today from 1 to 2 pm with services at 2, burial at Sylvan Abbey.
