Thigpen, Doris Leger's Obituary
Doris Leger Thigpen, 94, of Clearwater, Florida passed away October 21, 2024. She was born in Bristol, Louisiana and moved to Florida in August of 1968 from Vicksburg, Mississippi. Doris worked as a banker and retired from Southeast Bank. She was a dedicated member of St. Michael the Archangel in Clearwater, FL and is predeceased by her loving husband, Herman A. Thigpen.
“God welcomed a beautiful angel in heaven. We praise God that mom was gently released from her dementia and we are grateful to the dedicated and compassionate staff of Suncoast Hospice Center of North Pinellas. They all comforted mom with their kind personal and medical care, along with caring for the family. We appreciate all the family, friends, and neighbors who have been loving and supportive and we are grateful to have been by our mother’s side during her final days.”
Doris is survived by her son, Michael A. Brown ( Elizabeth); her daughters, Pamella B. Pavlica (Gregory), and Karen B. Grimes (Carl) Grimes; eight grandchildren, Lake Michael Brown (Lindsay), Summerly Sykes Sherlock (Chad), Jason Pavlica (Nicole), Jodi Izzo, Justin Pavlica (Nicole), Victoria A. Veitas, Vincent K. Veitas, and Kaitlyn Marie Grimes; and twelve great-grandchildren, Laurel Lake Brown, Lottie Jane Brown, Waverly Sherlock, Elsie Sherlock, Brady Pavlica, Natalia Toader, Stella Lee, Jackson Lee, Vera Izzo, Dominic Izzo, Audrey Pavlica, Austin Pavlica, and Adalynn Pavlica. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice of North Pinellas.
