Douglas Scott Kirk's Obituary
Douglas Scott Kirk born January 4 1964 at Ft. George G. Meade Maryland, went to his eternal rest December 13 2025. He is survived by his wife Janet Himmelsbach Kirk and son Scott Alan Kirk, mother Virginia Wilson sister Laura Murray. He was predeceased by his father, Herbert Lester Kirk. Survived by numerous relatives and friends including stepfather Claridge Wilson, Mel and Reba Kay Moore, Delores and Colleen Foutz. Douglas served in the Navy where he met and married Janet in Charleston, South Carolina. In 1985, he left the navy to follow Janet to England and then to Hawaii. While in England Janet gave birth to Scott and Douglas took on the role of stay at home dad while Janet return to active duty. The next duty station was in Honolulu where he worked for the Morale, Welfare, Recreation department on base, enjoyed cooking and working on race cars. On 9 February 1995, Janet had a brain stem stroke and was left as a non verbal quadriplegic after leaving the hospital, they returned state side and settled in Florida where he was her devoted caretaker for more than 30 years. Douglas enjoyed cooking and had pleasure in smoking all types of meat and baking bread. He developed many special recipes that he could feed to wife Janet. He was a devoted son, neighbor, and especially enjoyed work on the family tree.
