Douglas MacArthur Nyack's Obituary
Douglas “Max” Nyack, was born in Trinidad on 30 September, 1950. God called him home on 8 August, 2017 at age 66.
Doug “Max”, graduated from Saint Andrews Anglican Secondary School, Grenada West Indies. He attended Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. He served three years in the U.S. Amy in Vietnam and Korea. He received a National Defense Service Medal, an Armed Forces Exceptional Medal, an Expert Badge (Grenade), and the Sharp Shooter Medal (M-16).
He retired his career after 27 years of working for the Department of Defense as the Commissary Manager at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan.
Doug “Max” married his childhood sweetheart Ann “Dale” on 26 July, 1975. They have two sons, J and Saede. He was a wonderful husband and father. His son J, daughter in law Nikki, son Saede, and daughter in law Suzanne are left with many memories that will always be cherished. His seven grandchildren Sydney, Brooklyn, Tyler, Jaden, Chase, Jackson and Eve were always close to his heart. His love for his grandchildren was beyond words. He was a beloved brother to his sister in law Gillian, and brothers in law Chris and Ricky.
Doug “Max” was preceded in death by his two brothers Gentle and Sylvester, and leaves cherished memories to his Mother Daisy; his sisters Leah, Bernadette, Judy and Donna; and his brothers Frank, Ted, Cam and Neam; brothers in law Baxter, Victor, Roy and Darrell; sisters in law Ruth, Jeanette, Glenda and Arlene; along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Though his smile is gone and his hand we cannot touch, we are left with so many memories of the one we love so much. We have all been touched by his love, kindness, and generosity that will never be forgotten. His memories will remain a keepsake, which we will always treasure in our hearts forever.
