Doyle T. Rickett's Obituary
Doyle Rickett was born in his parents' one room home in the rugged coal mining area of the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. He made his way through school earning a GED when he joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. He continued on to attend the University of Tennessee where he graduated with an electrical engineering degree and was eventually accepted into the General Electric Management Training Program. In the 1960's his career took him into the computer and circuit board world which became his life's chosen work. He built and ran eleven Printed Circuit Board (PCB) companies in the U.S. before forming his own company which operated for 26 years with offices in Clearwater, Seminole, Jupiter, and Taiwan. During his career Doyle earned the nickname "The Godfather of Printed Circuit Boards."
Doyle loved living in paradise, as he called Florida, and after retirement, he took up playing bridge. Bridge became almost a full time job! Doyle was a long-standing member of Clearwater Bridge Club where he earned his Silver Life Master. He was also an avid football fan and he especially cheered on his Tennessee Volunteers!
Doyle was preceded in death by his son Matt and his beloved dog, Precious. He is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 44 years; daughters Debbie Rickett and Kathy West; sons John Rickett and Mark Rickett; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his nephew Johnny Martin; and the Best Friends
