E. Wayne Johnson's Obituary
Emmett Wayne Johnson, 76, of Clearwater, Florida, sadly passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Morton Plant Hospital.
He was born to Jonah and Tennie Johnson in Samson, Alabama on February 19, 1941, and moved to Florida as a young child.
He graduated from Largo High School and enlisted in the United States Army. After serving his country, he spent his career years in banking and auto sales.
He and his wife, Elaine, enjoyed 49 years of marriage while raising their three children in Clearwater, Florida.
He enjoyed many years of camping with family at Ft. Desoto Park and thoroughly enjoyed nature and the great outdoors. Florida was his paradise.
Upon retirement, his days were filled with gardening, outdoor activities and visiting Pinellas County parks. Creating and crafting handmade toys for his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Gwen and Patricia. He is survived by wife, Elaine, son James Johnson (Sue), daughter Amy Johnson-Brown (Ron), daughter Marcie A. Lafita (Angel), sisters Glenell, Peggy, Sharon (John), Sandy (Dee),grandchildren Steffan, Jessica, Brandon, Blake, Logan and Jonah, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne will be remembered as a man who was true to his word and his family.
Per Wayne's wishes, there will be no service. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
