Earl Wallschleager's Obituary
Earl Wallschleager, 89, passed away on February 16th, 2024, in Largo, Florida. Earl was born on September 19th, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late George Wallschleager and Anna Hurckman Wallschleager. Earl attended Chicago Vocational High School and then graduated Lincoln Techniocal Institue. Earl served in the Army during the Korean War from 1957 to 1959, obtaining the rank of SP4-E4 and served on the 38th parallel. Following his time in the Army, Earl married Linda Hatchell on April 11th, 1959. After his father's passing in 1968, Earl moved his family to St. Petersburg, Florida, to take care of his mother, family and worked for Chrysler as a master mechanic. In the the very early 70's, Earl retired from being a master mechanic so he could purchase and develop a mobile home park - West Gate Mobile Manor. Earl spent the rest of his life (more than 52 years) owning and caring for their mobile home park until he no longer was able to.
Earl was known as a hard working, honest, dependable, organized, people person. He was raised Catholic, but did not practice. The most important events in his life were caring for his mother, raising his family and developing thier mobile home park - West Gate Mobile Manor. Earl enjoyed many hobbies over the years: he had a natural ability for freehand drawing, tried glass blowing, welding, stained glass, pretty much anything mechanical. He loved driving and enjoyed old cars and motorcycles. He had a knack for tinkering and had a great passion for animals and talking to any and everyone he met.
Earl is survived by his wife Linda Wallschleager, daughter Robin L. Hite, son Randy L. Wallschleager, niece Karen Skeen, grandchildren: Glen E Hite, Timothy K. Hite, Patricia Wallschleager, Nicole Wallschleager, Christopher Wallschleager and 3 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, siblings and son Timothy L. Wallschleager.
