Edo Ferdinand Constan Ferrol's Obituary
Edo Ferdinand Constan Ferrol, 100, passed away at home in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by his loving family on June 20th, 2024. Edo was born on March 4th, 1924, in Paramaribo, Suriname, the 9th of 9 children born to Louis Hendrik Cornelis Ferrol and Jacoba Carolina Webber.
Edo married his beloved wife Vera Antoinette Volkerts on September 30, 1950, in Oranjestad, Aruba, and together had their 3 beautiful children. In 1955, Edo and Vera moved the family to the US (New York) where he started working for KLM and then started his own business, Floridex Merchandise Company, which he and Vera ran for 50 years.
Edo is survived by his children Vendette (Vicki) Ferrol, Larry Ferrol Sr. (Diana), & Sharon Ferrol-Young (Keith), grandchildren Amber Ferrol (Steve Dionne), Thomas "TJ" Ferrol (Shawna English), & Larry Ferrol Jr., and great-grandchildren Kaja Dionne, Larry Ferrol III, Chase English, & Lyla English-Wikoff.
Edo enjoyed cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rays, and particularly enjoyed the songs "My Way" and "Amazing Grace". He is best described as sweet, caring, strong-willed, and the life of the party. He was a very special man and will be dearly missed by his family & friends.
