Edward Parker Call's Obituary
Edward Parker Call 68, of Clearwater, passed away September 1, 2015.
He was an x-ray technologist for 46 years, 15 of which he spent working at Tower Diagnostics in Tampa, Florida before retiring in 2010. Edward was known as “Big Ed” at Tower Diagnostics and was loved by his patients, especially the children. Big Ed was a true gentle giant who often mentored his colleagues that were new to radiology and formed many lasting friendships throughout his career.
Edward was a lifelong member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia. He loved his Southern Gospel Music. Each year, Edward and his wife Jamie would attend the National Quartet Convention. This year would have been their 19th year in attendance. Most of all, Edward loved his family. He’ll be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend to many.
Edward is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jamie Call; children Katina (Ed) O’Connor of Massapequa, NY and Brittan (Gwendolyn) Call of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren Gavin O’Connor, Logan O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Emma Call and Ellery Call; father Robert Call Sr. of Perry, GA; siblings Robert Call Jr. of Charleston, SC and Joan Curry of Raleigh, NC; aunt Alice Gray of Perry GA; cousins Steve (Gere) Gray, Jeanette (Johnny) Collins, and Willie (Peggy) Hagan; nieces and nephews, Shannon (Brian) Bennett, Benjamin (Rebecca) Curry, Robert (Anna Liese) Call III, Alice (Randy) Bryant, Bryan (Katie) Call, and Geoffrey (Sabrina) Call; brother-in-law Mark Sands (Elmo Ditallo); sister-in-law Katina Williams; nephew-in-law Chip (Katie) Williams.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Margarete Parker Call; and his grandparents Brittan and Alice Parker.
A local visitation will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on Friday September 4th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, FL. Memorial service will be conducted at 7 pm.
A second visitation will follow from 7 to 9 on Saturday September 5th at Christ Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, GA. Funeral services and interment will be held at the church on Sunday, September 6th beginning at 2 pm.
