Eleanor Eklund, Wissert, Burk, (Ellie) 84 years of Dunedin, FL died on Monday, December 24, 2012. Ellie was born in St. Albans, Queens, New York on November 29, 1928 to August and Bertha Eklund. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, Jackson Heights, NY. She married the late Herbert R. Wissert on September 4, 1949. She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Glennon and her husband, Jack of Walpole, MA; and Teresa Vejvoda and her husband Steve of Hampstead, NC.She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, John Glennon, Christopher Glennon, Amy Glennon Steinhauser, Deanna Vejvoda Wilkie, Lauren Vejvoda and 8 loving great grandchildren. Also surviving Ellie is her brother, Edward Eklund of Franklin, MA.Ellie and Herb were wonderful dancers and loved to spend time at home listening to music and dancing. She was a great cook and especially liked to make traditional Norwegian and Swedish recipes that were the hallmark of her heritage. Ellie was widowed in 1971 and later married Charles E. Burk in 1984. They relocated to Dunedin. Ellie and Charlie spent time traveling and visiting their families. Ellie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes of Dunedin. She also was a member of the Sons of Norway.After her family and friends, another passion was fashion and especially shoes! Lots of shoes! Mom we love you and know you are now at peace in the arms of the Lord. .
