Eliane Mukamusoni's Obituary
Eliane Mukamusoni was born on July 26, 1957 in Nyamasheke, in the Western Province of Rwanda. She was the daughter of Veronica Kanyundo and Joas Ntibishishira, the fourth born of 13 children.
She proudly graduated technical school with a diploma in family studies, and later on, received a teaching diploma, as well.
In 1977, she met her husband of 48 years, Ferdinand Mutokambali. They went on to have four beautiful children and six grandchildren. Family was everything to Eliane, and she loved being a mother and grandmother. She treated everyone she met like they were family, and mentored anyone who needed it.
She was a visionary and dedicated entrepreneur, having started multiple ventures including fashion design, tailoring, and real estate. She understood the importance of teaching others, and her businesses always included an element of training women and female empowerment.
She was woman of strong faith, a member of the Pentecostal Church. She served in a variety of church leadership positions, including singing in the choir and leading agrobusiness projects that impacted the community through income and food generation.
In her later years, she and her husband moved to the United States to be closer to family. She is survived by her husband, Ferdinand; and her children, Jeannine Mauwa, Aimee Kibondo, Yvonne Niyitegeka, and Boris Habimana.
Eliane’s service will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 pm. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Eliane Mukamusoni Memorial Fund.
