Elicia "Alice" Castillo's Obituary
Elicia “Alice” “Licha” Castillo, age 85, passed away on May 28, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Juanita Guzman and Edward Vargas.
Alice moved from Detroit, Michigan, in 2009 and settled in Florida with her husband Manuel and her son Edward. She was the beloved wife of Jesus M. Castillo, and she was the devoted mother of Vincent Castillo, Edward Castillo, Jesus Castillo Jr., Judy Marek and her husband Craig Marek, and Yvonne Castillo. She was a cherished sister to Joel Vargas, David Vargas, Johnny Vargas, Arturo Vargas, and Gilbert Guzman.
She is predeceased by Mary Barrera, Rachel Wendt, Zulema Lopez, Josie Sanchez, Robert Vargas, and Chilito Vargas. Alice is the last of her sisters to have passed away.
Alice was a proud grandmother to nine beautiful grandchildren: Ericha Wilk and her husband Marty, Vincent Castillo Jr. Bianca Santos, Stacey Marek Frisicano and her husband Andrew, Gabrielle Castillo, Fabian Castillo, Efrain Santos, Cara Castillo and Julian Castillo and her 4 beautiful great grandchildren Carson, Casey, Dylan and Daisy.
She had a zest for life and enjoyed visiting the casino, shopping, and bowling. Alice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service for Alice will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 750 San Salvador Dr. Dunedin, on Saturday September 13, 2025 @ 12pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
