Elizabeth Louise Elcenko's Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth Louise (Fahy) Elcenko on August 14, 2024, in Dunedin, Florida. Betty Lou (BL) was born on October 31, 1947, to James J Fahy and Elizabeth A McGlinchey in Philadelphia, PA. She grew in Lake Pine, NJ, with her father and stepmother, Marilyn (Moore) Fahy. Betty Lou attended Lenape High School and had a long career in property management where she employed her amazing "people person" skills. She is survived by her two sisters, Peggy Kemp (Jon) and Marie Straub (Ken), her stepbrother, James Fahy (Christine), and her two stepchildren, Debra Williams (Zane) and Richard Spector (Kathy). Betty Lou was beloved by her family, her friends, and her relatives, especially her "kissing" cousins. Betty Lou was our culinary queen. While her kitchen is now silent, those experiences with her supplied us with memories that will linger with us forever. On many occasions, we gathered around the table with her, laughter and love were always the main ingredients. Everyone who knew her will remember BL and her beautiful smile with joy. She will have a place in our hearts forever. Although there will not be a formal memorial service, the family is planning a gathering on Long Beach Island (one of BL's favorite places) in the coming months to celebrate the life of our beautiful girl. If you would like to remember Betty Lou, donations can be made to support the dedicated and caring volunteers and staff at Suncoast Hospice.
