Elizabeth Godish's Obituary
Elizabeth Godish
March 5, 1947 – May 21, 2025
Elizabeth Godish, age 78, of Dunedin, FL, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late George Godish and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Born on March 5, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA Elizabeth was the daughter of the late John Darnley and Angus Osborne. She is preceded in death by her cherished twin sister Jane Mascaro, and her siblings Chuck Darley, James Darnley, John Darnley, William Darnley, Donald Darnley, Hugh Darnley, and Roseann Mlescsko.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Joseph Zaracki, George Godish, and his wife Danielle and daughter Jaycee Howard. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jordan Howard, Ethan Godish, Alex Godish, and Julie Godish. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved them fiercely.
Elizabeth was known for her vibrant personality, quick wit, and artistic spirit. She had a wonderful sense of humor—often delightfully inappropriate—and an infectious laugh that filled every room. She loved to dance, especially with her twin sister Jane, and was a self-proclaimed “master” bingo player, rarely missing a game. Even as Alzheimer's slowly took her from those who loved her, Libby’s sense of humor and deep love for her family remained ever-present.
Each of her three children secretly believed they were her favorite—and they were probably right. The bond Libby shared with her twin sister Jane was one of pure joy, filled with laughter, dancing, and a few good drinks. They were true best friends who lit up every room they entered.
Elizabeth Godish will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of laughter, love, and strength lives on through her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
