Emily Lynn Buffalo's Obituary
BUFFALO, Emily Lynn Corthell 64, of Clearwater, passed away August 17, 2015 after a short illness.
She was born on October 13, 1950 in Atlanta, GA to parents Mark A. Corthell and Marion Young. Lynn attended elementary and high school in Huntsville, AL and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. Though she later received her master’s degree from the University of South Florida, Lynn remained a radical Alabama fan. On June 20, 1986, she and Billy J Buffalo married and moved to Clearwater. They enjoyed 29 wonderful years together. Lynn taught mathematics in both Alabama and Florida schools including Tarpon Middle and Palm Harbor Middle. She had just recently retired after 39 years of teaching.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Billy, children Ashley Porter of FL, and Shay Thome of AL; stepchildren Teresa McCall, Denise Hudson, and Catherine Beall; grandchildren Heather Kelly, Helene Rizzo, Amanda Rizzo, Stephany Rizzo, Jason Porter, Haley Porter, Brenley Porter, Jillian Moorehouse, Mitchel Hoy, Hunter Beall, and Haidyn Beall; and great-grandchildren Annabelle Moorehouse, Jasper Moorehouse, and Aydan Quinn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday August 22nd at Heritage United Methodist Church, 2680 Landmark Drive, Clearwater 33761. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery.
