Emily Margaret Thomas' Obituary
With Deepest Sorrow, We Announce the Passing of Emily Margaret (Gaumont)
Thomas
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of our beloved mother,
Emily (Gaumont) Thomas, passing away peacefully on July 22, 2024, at the
age of 73 just a week shy of her 74th birthday. She was born on July 29, 1950,
in Quincy, Massachusetts to Alfred Gaumont and Mary Bischoff Gaumont.
Emily was a devoted mother, a “nana” to her twin grandkids, and a cherished
friend to many. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Robyn Mantia,
son-in-law Jason Mantia, grandkids Nicholas and Taylor all of Castle Rock,
CO, her son Christopher Thomas of Clearwater, Florida, and her brother Carl
Gaumont of Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts. Emily was preceded in death
by her parents and her brother Eugene Paul Gaumont.
Emily was a devout Christian who fervently loved Jesus! Her passions were
writing/journaling, reading, and listening to worship music. She found joy in
the everyday simple things like walking on the beach, collecting seashells,
taking moments to stop and smell the flowers, especially sunflowers, and
daisies because those were her favorite, and admiring the natural beauty
around her like colorful sunsets. Emily did not take things for granted and
would seek out the beauty around her.
Emily was a loving and caring Registered Nurse for Hospice and other medical
facilities within Pinellas County for over 40 years. She also served in the
United States Air Force stationed at Kessler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi, where she
met her future husband, Ron Thomas.
Emily was a remarkable woman who will forever be remembered for her
beautiful smile that lit up every room she entered. We are grateful for all the
love and joy she brought into our lives and will cherish her memory always.
Tears are being shed here on earth for Emily because she will be missed. But
we all know that she is in Heaven rejoicing, laughing loudly, and dancing with
that lovely smile which shines down on her family
