Forney Winner's Obituary
Forney D. Winner "Fred", of Dunedin, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at his residence.Fred was born on February 7, 1913. He studied at Dartmouth University. In 1936, he graduated from Penn State with a Masters Degree in Psychology. Fred graduated from Hahnemann Medical School in 1940 and Pennsylvania University Graduate Surgery in 1941. In 1942, Fred married Laura Hill (three years) who also became a surgeon.After graduation from Penn State, he practiced in Norton, Virginia. Here he began writing his first book, Surgeons Blue Coal. Years later, he wrote a book Genetic Basis of Society, another on satire called Extinction.Fred practiced surgery in his home town, Lock Haven, Pennsylvania for twenty one years. He also opened and supervised the famous Locks Restaurant, displaying life sized exhibits of Indian artifacts that he hunted and collected.Fred is survived by his wife, Mary of 55 years, four nieces and three nephews.Services will be rendered by Helt Funeral Chapel in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania.Arrangements under the direction of Moss Feaster Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dunedin, FL.
