Frances Kay Lea's Obituary
Lea, Frances “Kay” – On Saturday, the 26th of August 2023, Kay Lea got her wings and went to be with her husband of 50 years, Dave Lea. She was 82 years old. Born in Smithville, Texas, on the 24th of April 1941, she and her family owned a cave and gave tours to visitors. She moved to Florida and grew up in St. Petersburg where she graduated from Northeast High (NEHI) and completed one year of college in Richmond, Virginia. She moved back to St. Petersburg and in 1973, she married Jay Davis “Dave” Lea (the love of her life) and they worked together to build a beautiful life, family and a very successful optical business. Kay loved being a mother and a wife, going to casinos (she won a Harley Davidson motorcycle and many other jackpots), collecting giraffes and spending time with her family and friends.
Kay was predeceased by her husband, Dave Lea. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly K. Lea (Houston, TX) and her son Anthony Jay (AJ) Lea (Pinellas Park, FL).
In lieu of flowers, her family would like for donations to be made in Kay’s honor to Suncoast Hospice Foundation – 5771 Roosevelt Blvd.; Clearwater, FL 33760.
