Francis M Jaynal's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Dr. Francis M. Jaynal announce his peaceful passing on Friday, April 23rd at the age of 84 years. His battle with serious medical issues in recent months showed his courage in facing life challenges bravely.
Dr Jaynal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Venilda, his daughter, Francine and is the proud “Lolo” to his grandchildren Stephen and Lyla as well as numerous extended relatives, friends and patients.
Dr Jaynal was predeceased by his son, Jason Francis Jaynal.
Dr Jaynal was born in the Phillippines and as a young student was mentored by the Oblate Missionaries. Upon graduation from the University of Santo Tomas with his medical degree, he came to New York with his new bride. They eventually settled in the White Plains, New York where they raised their family and Dr. Jaynal began a long career as a cardiologist in Westchester County. Dr. Jaynal was the Medical Director of Dobbs Ferry Hospital for numerous years. After a brief retirement, Dr Jaynal decided to return to medicine and accepted a position with St Mary’s Hospital and Wellmont Medical Group in Norton, VA. He continued another illustrious career in Norton till his final retirement in 2019. Dr Jaynal was a popular physician who was known for his passion for his family, his patients and tennis. He was kind, compassionate, generous and loved by his patients.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dr Jaynal; caring for his patients, a challenging tennis match and a nightly phone call to his grandchildren were all that he needed
In 2019, Dr and Mrs. Jaynal moved to St Petersburg, Florida to enjoy every minute possible with their daughter and grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, April 29th at St Paul Catholic Church, 1800 12th St N, St Petersburg, Florida.
