Frank Paul Pochis' Obituary
Frank Paul Pochis 89, born in Old Forge, PA., and longtime resident of Clearwater, died September 12, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Frank was born April 5, 1925, graduated from Throop High School, PA and attended college at the University of Toledo. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII with the 198th Bomber Group in England. He was discharged with the rank of corporal and his decorations included the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star. During the war, Frank met his wife to be, Dorothy Broach, at an ROTC dance. They married and settled in Florida where they raised their three daughters. Frank and Dorothy were married for 65 years. Frank had a long career in the food service industry and retired form Morrisons Inc. after many years of service. He was proudly commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the governor of Kentucky May 27th 1976. His hobbies included watching the Yankees, Notre Dame and Auburn, golf, cooking, photography and he was a member of the Arabian Horse Association. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John Pochis and Mary Niemiec and his loving wife Dorothy. He is survived by his three daughters, Christine Abreu and husband Anthony, Deborah Attwood and husband George, and Pamela Fuller and husband Geoffrey. His surviving grandchildren are Erin Attwood, James (Eleanor) Attwood, Cozette Abreu and Aimee Cediel; great grandchildren Locke and Emma Attwood. Frank is from a large family of ten brothers and sisters and his surviving sister is Dottie Warney. A memorial service with military honors will be held October 30 at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
