Franklin Jack Burr's Obituary
BURR, Franklin Jack passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at age 98. Son of Joseph B. Perlman and Hannah Perlman, he lived for many years in Dunedin, Florida. His charismatic personality earned him the affection and admiration of many friends and neighbors. During WWII he served as Chief Pharmacist's Mate (ship's Doctor) on a Navy warship stationed off the coast of Japan. Honorably discharged after surviving his battle injuries, he married his sweetheart Bernadeen and pursued a successful career as an Entrepreneur. Mr. Burr has always served as an exemplary example of his dedication and commitment to his community. He is survived by his son, Franklin Jack Burr II (Mayu); and his daughter, Janet Masching (Manny Kusturiss); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A man of indomitable spirit; he fought tirelessly throughout his life to defend, protect and assist seniors, disabled, downtrodden and needy people. He inherited his spirit of charity from his father Joseph. A favorite quotation of Jack Senior is "You've got to accentuate the positive; eliminate the negative; latch onto the affirmative; and don't mess with Mister In-Between!" A viewing and gathering will be held at 2:00 pm, at Moss Feaster Home, 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, FL. 34698 on Monday, March 31, 2014. In honor of their father's spirit of charity, the family requests that in lieu of sending flowers, friends of Jack should make a contribution in his memory to the charity of their choice. A roster of those memorial contributions will be maintained by the family. Thank you all.
