Frederick L Anderson's Obituary
Frederick L. Anderson, 74, better known as the “Joke Man” who always had a joke to tell passed away April 16, 2016. He was a man who loved wearing a hat, in fact, just bought a new one the day he passed. To those at the Trinity Y, he was known as the “Paper Man.” He was born to Lucille and Gervis on October 4, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio.
During his lifetime, he served a short term in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis in Fort Bliss, Texas. He returned home when his mother became ill with colon cancer and needed his assistance. All his life he was dedicated to folks who needed help in one way or another and he was always ready and willing to help. After the service he met and married his wife of 53 years, Georgia Teal. For several years he worked a swing shift at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Newark, Ohio where he pulled a man from certain death out of a vat of fiberglass. He also worked on an assembly line at Roper Appliances where stoves and lawnmowers were made, also located in Newark, Ohio. Later he and his wife, daughter, and son moved to Buckeye Lake. He loved the outdoors so much that he became enamored with the building trade. He was good with his hands and in time began his own business. F&A Building and Remodeling was based in Buckeye Lake and encompassed the surrounding towns as far away as Columbus, Pataskala, and Mount Vernon, Ohio until his retirement in 1997.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Patty, and his only son, Greggory. Fred leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Georgia, daughter Christine of Ohio, sister Linda and brother-in-law Jack of Tarpon, two granddaughters Angela and Ashley of Ohio, great-granddaughter Mila, also of Ohio, and three nephews Jack, Tim and Andy of California.
Fred was a self-made man who lived life “his way.” He will be sadly missed every day and was loved greatly.
