Frederick James Rancier's Obituary
Frederick James Rancier was born on August 9th, 1950, to Mary (Multari) Paquette in Syracuse, New York. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 16th, 2024, while visiting one of his closest friends Gary Miller and doing what he did best, taking care of others with his amazing cooking.
Fred lived the first 43 years of his life in Syracuse, New York, graduating from Liverpool High School in 1968 and Jefferson Community College in 1970. He spent most of his adult years in Syracuse working at Mutual of New York but in 1993 had had enough of the snow and clouds so moved to Long Beach, CA where in the summer of 1996 he met the love of his life Joseph Ciarleglio and were legally married in December of 2013. In 2013 they decided to move to Henderson, NV to be closer to their son and his family and remained there until his death.
Fred was an avid home chef and always there for his friends and family. He was always smiling, loved to be around people and his beloved Chihuahua, Tara. He loved a strong cup of coffee with his morning cigarette, hosting a good party and shopping! QVC will probably miss him very much. Josh Groban, Michael Bublé and Barbra Streisand’s music sales will probably take a serious hit as well. He learned to love Bingo from his mother and continued that tradition in Las Vegas, making many good friends there along the way. Fred enjoyed his job and of course, made many lifelong friends there as well. He retired from Ceridian Corp in 2017.
Fred is survived by his husband Joseph Ciarleglio, son and daughter – in – law Jon and Deena Rancier, grandchildren Kylee and James Beems and Maya Rancier, siblings Patty (Bob) Haroun, Ronny (Paula Rodrigues) Paquette, and Charlie Paquette, numerous nieces and nephews and his Aunt Patricia D’Agostino.
A Celebration of life will be held on August 11th, 12:00pm at the home of Jon and Deena Rancier in Las Vegas, NV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fred’s name to Olive Crest of Las Vegas or the Nevada SPCA.
