Gary Lee Lentz's Obituary
Gary Lee Lentz, 72, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on September 25th, 2021, in Safety Harbor. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on May 26th, 1949, to the late Curtis & Vivian (Reavis) Lentz.
Gary moved to Dunedin in 1967 and attended Dunedin High School in his senior year where he played trombone in the band, graduating in 1968.
A Navy Veteran, serving as an Avionics Technician on the U.S.S Shangri-La during Vietnam, Gary returned after the conflict and became known as a local businessman in the Clearwater area, as the co-owner of “Leo and Gary’s Patio Shop” producing, repairing and selling beach and patio furniture to several local hotels, resorts and homeowners. A hard-working man, Gary loved to spend time working in his yard, repairing small engines and staying busy with various home projects. In his rare free time, Gary’s main pastime was making jewelry, producing belt buckles, bolo ties, rings, and other pieces as he pursued his hobby of being a Lapidary.
He is survived by his High School sweetheart and loving wife of 50 years Susan (Herny) Lentz, as well as his 2 sons Daniel & David Lentz and two grandchildren and his brother, Steven Lentz.
