Gaynell M. Coleman's Obituary
Gaynell Mallory Coleman, 99, of Holiday, Florida, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Gaynell graduated from the University of Kentucky and taught home economics in Falmouth, Kentucky for a year before she married Rev. Robert E. Coleman, Jr. A devout Christian, she spent her life serving our Lord and others. The “Quintessential Minister’s Wife and Entertainer”, Gaynell enjoyed hosting each Sunday School class every year in their home and calling on shut-ins every week in addition to having friends and family over regularly. She wrote the “The Circle Hour” for over 20 years which kept the church members connected and informed before social media. Gaynell was a church organist from the time she was a teenager until one month before she died. Serving as the organist at First Christian Churches of Clearwater and Dunedin, she also worked as the organist and secretary at Moss Feaster Funeral Homes. She was a member of First Christian Church, Red Hat Society and the Seville Ladies Group. If she wasn’t entertaining and serving others, she was found in the pool at Seville swimming laps and basking in the sun! Gaynell stayed active all of her life and led “Sing a Longs” at Harborwood Nursing Home and at Sunshine Christian Home where she resided the last 6 years.
