George G Hardin Sr.'s Obituary
HARDIN, George Grady Sr., age 86, of Dunedin, passed away on October 14, 2016.
George was born in Dunedin in 1930 and grew up on the family orange grove. He was a son of the late E.M. and Florence (Ferguson) Hardin and was also predeceased by his sister Virginia Weant and brother Walter Hardin. He graduated from Clearwater High School, served in the Army in occupied Japan during the Korean War and graduated from his beloved University of Florida. He taught and served as an administrator at Tyrone Junior High and Seminole High before going into the family real estate business. The Hardin family developed Golden Acres, Golden Crest and Westwind Mobile Home Parks. He was a charter member and president of the Countryside Kiwanis Club, where he was co-director of the Midnight Run for over 30 years. He later served as Lt. Governor of Kiwanis. George was also a charter member of both Azalea and North Dunedin Baptist Churches where he served as teacher, deacon, youth director and Sunday school director.
He is survived by his loving wife Dixie of 63 years and four children: George Hardin, Jr. (Patti), of Palm Harbor, Henry Hardin (Lee) of Spruce Pine, NC, John Hardin (Yvonne) of Burnsville, NC, and Bette English (Alan) of Spruce Pine, NC. They have 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He also is survived by his sister Ruth Chapin (Bob) and brother Henry Hardin (Jackie).

A celebration of life will be held on November 23rd at 1:00 pm at North Dunedin Baptist Church.
