George Truman Lewis, Jr
Born September 23, 1939, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, and lived in Osterville in his younger years. He was a graduate from Barnstable High School. He joined the Navy after high school where he served for 3 years. He met his wife, the love of his life, on Main Street in Hyannis. He was part owner of Cape Wide Electronics in Hyannis for many years. Later in life, he opened Trumans Bait and Tackle in West Yarmouth, where you would always see his loyal companion, Jack the yellow lab, sitting in the doorway. When he retired, he settled in Dunedin Florida. He loved life, his family, his friends, fishing, golfing, and being near the ocean.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Lynch Lewis, daughters Margaret Ann Brown and husband Timothy Brown, Jo-Ellen Lewis Dockham and husband Robert Dockham, and Jane Elizabeth Wilson and husband Glenn Wilson, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and nieces.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 750 San Salvador Dr., Dunedin, FL on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 11:00 am. A military service will be held at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:15 am.
