George Worrall's Obituary
George Worrall passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 30, 2024 in Palm Harbor, Florida at the age of 91. Born on February 5, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, his family then moved to Albany, NY, and onto Atlanta, GA where he lived until high school. He and his family then moved to Shaker Heights, OH where he attended Ohio State University and Fenn College in Cleveland.
George was drafted into the US Army in 1952 where he was stationed in Germany. In November 1954 he returned to the United States and began a long career with Aetna Life & Casualty as a Claim Adjuster and Group Claim Examiner and in 1967, he issued the first Medicare payment in the country. In June of 1969 he transferred to Clearwater, Florida where he worked as a Medicare consultant for Aetna. After 30+ years with Aetna, he retired in August of 1990.
George met his wife, Jean in 1979 and were married on July 23, 1983. George is survived by his wife Jean, daughters Kim (Dan) Fleming and Kelsey Kendall and Jean’s siblings Patty Bianco, Janice Miller, John Steffens, Frank Renella, Angel (Jamie) Newberg and Mark (Sarah) Renella and granddaughter, Marisa Kendall.
Visiting hours for George will be held on Thursday June 6, 2024, from 8:30am - 10am, at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main St. in Dunedin, FL. Followed by a Funeral Mass, at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Philippe Pkwy, Safety Harbor, FL, at 10:30am. Burial will take place after the Mass at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater FL. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
