Gerald Allen's Obituary
Gerald Allen of Dunedin died at home May 2, 2021 under the caring staff of Suncoast Hospice.
He leaves his wife, Turza, two sons, Marc (Lorna) and Michael of CA and two step children Lydia Weis (Peter)
of MA and Marshall Perry of N H. Two grandchildren, Kayla (Kellan) Dube and Katie Allen of CA and step granddaughter Thalia Schodel of MA, five great grandchildren of CA as well as siblings Natalie Mandel and Matthew Allen both of FL.
Jerry was born Nov. 12, 1925 and lived in Rockville/Vernon CT until moving to Dunedin. In CT he was in the insurance field and active in politics, serving in various local offices and was elected to five terms in the CT State Legislature. In Dunedin he enjoyed years of volunteering at the Rotary Centennial Nature Center. One of his lasting contributions there was a well researched article on ospreys which was published and is still distributed as training material for new volunteers. He was a member of Fayette Masonic Lodge #69, Ellington, CT.
He was happiest enjoying poetry, travel, golf, fishing, and always his family. He will be remembered for his spirit of kindness and finding the goodness in all.
