Gerard Chateauneuf's Obituary
WEBSTER, MA/CLEARWATER, FL - Gerard Chateauneuf, 91,
of Clearwater, Florida, formerly from Webster, Massachusetts,
passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Brookdale
Beckett Lake assisted living facility in Clearwater, Florida.
He is predeceased by his wife Doris (Demers) Chateauneuf
and a grandson, Christopher Hendrickx.
He leaves his daughters, Suzanne Hendrickx of Paxton,
Massachusetts and Diane Hancock of Tarpon Springs, Florida and a
son, Russell Chateauneuf and his wife Nancy of Dudley,
Massachusetts . Gerard also leaves five grandchildren; Jennifer
Steele of Tennessee, Melissa Thedford and spouse William of
Florida, Andrew Hendrickx and spouse Michelle of Massachusetts,
Peter Chateauneuf and spouse Theresa, and Michael Chateauneuf
and fiancé Victoria Dolce of Massachusetts and five greatgrandchildren;
Gage, Kassandra, Olivia, Ryleigh and Jack.
Mr. Chateauneuf was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, the son
of Arthur and Alice Chateauneuf. He is predeceased by two sisters
and five brothers. He is a WWII veteran, serving in the USNR as a
Coxswain from 1942 to 1945.
While living in Webster, Gerard worked at A & M Tool and Die
in Southbridge as a machinist. He and his wife retired to
Clearwater, Florida in 1980. They enjoyed camping and travelling
across the US and Europe. They volunteered at St. Michael’s
Church.
Internment will be at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Beckett
Lake for their care and compassion for the last six years. The
family also extends their gratitude to Suncoast Hospice for their
professional and loving care that was provided at the end of life.
