Glenn K. Wiseman's Obituary
Glenn Kelley Wiseman, aged 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
He was born on October 27, 1938, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Lota Katherine Kelley and Glenn Seymour Wiseman. He lived most of his life in Dunedin, Florida, and was a 1957 graduate of Clearwater High School. Family and friends always called him Kelley, since he and his father had the same first names.
Because of his particular style of delivering the bowling ball to the lane, his bowling buddies referred to him as “Twinkle-toes”. Kelley was active in scouting for many years, attaining the Order of the Arrow and serving as waterfront director at scout camp for several summers. In high school he played in the band, was on the swim team and played football. After a year at Oglethorpe University, he went into the Army and spent most of his three years stationed in Landstuhl, Germany. When he returned home, he earned his associate degree at Jones College.
Kelley was raised into the Dunedin Masonic Lodge, and after moving to Merritt Island, Florida, he became a charter member of the Merritt Island lodge. Kelley married Edith Margaret Ewald on June 13, 1964, in Dunedin. For the first 20 years of his and Edie’s marriage, family vacations were spent camping, and as their children got old enough, they began traveling much further from home and to other countries, exchanging camping gear for cruise clothes. Kelley worked for General Electric, then Martin Marietta, then Lockheed Martin, for 25 years as a computer operator. He got along with everyone and enjoyed bowling, camping, and square dancing. What brought him the most joy was his family.
Glenn (Kelley) is survived by his wife, Edith (Edie), daughter, Reverend Katherine Wiseman Ginn, (husband Gene), son Kenneth Edward Wiseman, (wife Maria) and three grandchildren, (Sara, Alexander, and Zachary).
Family and friends are invited to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 705 Michigan Boulevard, Dunedin, for a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
