Barbara Phillips
GLORIA loved her Michigan family: Nieces and Nephews: Dan, Dale, Lynn, Barb and Leanne. She was always eager to catch up with them and show them around or entertain with food. She was pre-deceased by Larry's sisters Marian Batts Rosema; and Laura Batts Hoogerwerf.
Her giggles, smiles, funny stories and retelling of her little predicaments will be remembered. If something didn't suit her just right, she would gently ask Uncle Larry to fix it, or else made up a pet name to amuse herself. (like her 'little bump" for the odd roofline jutting out of the NC office). She found joy and humor in so many things. As fond as she was of 'Robin" her pet Yorkie, she got the biggest kick out of a picture holding a slender rawhide stick sideways-it looked like he had an attitude facing the camera while 'smoking" a "cigarette". She also fully enjoyed joking around with her two brothers-in-law, Burt and Jerry. They would get to laughing so hard she was almost in danger of falling off her chair.
Her love of beautiful things was probably one of her most memorable characteristics; she had a great eye for design, color, fashion, art and style.
No one who met her would ever forget her. She is a great loss to the whole family.
