Gregory D. Marlowe's Obituary
Gregory Marlowe was born on September 18, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, to John and Florence Marlowe. He passed away on June 6, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon Marlowe; his children, Jennifer Marlowe, Gregory Marlowe, his wife Amanda, and Timothy Marlowe; his brother, Michael Marlowe; his grandson, Preston; sisters-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Gregory attended St. Mary’s High School in Lancaster, New York, where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. He later graduated from Erie Community College, earning an associate degree.
Gregory and Sharon first met in Buffalo, New York. Sharon often joked that on the very first night they met, she told Gregory she wanted four children. Their relationship blossomed into a deep and enduring love, and they celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage together.
Gregory worked as a sheet metal fabricator for over 45 years. Following his retirement, he and Sharon relocated to Clearwater, Florida, where they enjoyed the sunshine and a slower pace of life.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Gregory coached baseball and softball as a young adult and continued playing softball well into adulthood. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including watching the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, playing golf, hiking, and following nearly any sporting event.
Gregory loved being a father and embraced life with a joyful, youthful spirit. One of his family’s fondest memories is waking up on Sunday mornings to the smell of pancakes he made for everyone.
He also cherished family vacations and could often be found enjoying the magic of Disney with the enthusiasm of a child.
In his free time, Gregory enjoyed sunbathing and traveling to tropical destinations. Wherever he went, he brought kindness, laughter, and a genuine interest in others.
Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Gregory loved him for his compassion, generosity, and warmth. He will be remembered for his dry wit, sharp sense of humor, and the countless inside jokes that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who loved him.
Gregory was a devoted member of First Christian Church of Clearwater. A memorial service will be held there in July, with the date to be announced.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to https://donate.melanoma.org.
