Virgil,
A Ship sails and I stand watching till He fades on the horizon and someone at my side says
He is gone.
Gone where? Gone from our sight, that is all. He is just as large now as when we saw Him. His diminished size and total loss from our sight is in us, not in him.
And just at that moment, when someone at my side says he is gone, there are others who are watching him coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout - There he comes!
That is what dying is.
A horizon and just the limit of our sight.
Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further.
Virgil I will miss the Friday phone calls. We never had a lot to say but we would talk for an hour anyway.
I remember the old days playing in the 33.3 woods across from the house on Badgett. We learned to make forts and lean-to shelters. We found flowers and a blueberry tree. I remember the swing Bob Long helped us put in a tall tree. Every time I pass by there I remember these things. I miss those days.
Well it looks like I am the last of the old folks so you won’t have to wait long, I will see you soon. Miss you BUSTER.

He was the oldest of the cousins. He was a great role model. I love him very much. He is now having a wonderful reunion in heaven with all the ones gone before. No more pain. Gonna miss you. I will see you again. Much love the family.
Virgil was a wonderful man and even tho we hadn't been able to see him for while, I'll always remember that handsome face as if it was yesterday. He was the oldest grandson and the apple of Mamaws eye. ❤️ We love you Virgil and know we will see you again soon. My heartfelt love goes out to Shirley and all the kids and sisters that were left behind but know that he is in a wonderful place where he will never be sick again. Love you all.
Virgil was always the "cool" older cousin! As a child, I was in awe of him. He was always so cute, and little girl cousin wanted attention! Rest in peace, sweet guy. Love you.
God Took Him To His Loving Home
God saw him getting tired, a cure was not to be.
He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered ‘Come with me.’
He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend.
He faced his pain with courage, until the very end.
He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain,
God took him to His loving home and freed him from the pain.
