Uncle Bud was a quiet man, but if you got him started on a subject he liked, he would talk. I remember one time he explained how a magnet worked. He explained in great detail. One event when I was a teenager, Uncle Bud, Aunt Bette, Buddy, Chris and my Grandma Nugent went on a hike in the woods near Sawgrass Lake in St Petersburg. Well my Grandmother and Aunt had made lunch for us all, and so when we got into the woods and were ready to eat, we had forgotten either knifes, forks or spoons. Well Uncle Bud carved out some utensils from some twigs so we could eat. Uncle Bud was not only knowledgeable but innovative. Uncle Bud made learning an adventure. I’m so thankful for him, for making a difference in my life. My heart is sad, but I know Uncle Bud is resting now in the arms of Jesus. Love, Joanne Nugent Duncan
