Helen M. Haas' Obituary
Helen M. Haas, 96, of Clearwater, Florida, passed on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Morton Plant Hospital.Originally from Hazelton, PA, Helen was a licensed practical nurse for many years. During the second World War she moved to Philadelphia to work in the Signal Corps. She later worked for Bell Telephone, leaving her position there to manage The Catholic Shop in Norristown, PA for 25 years. In the early 90's she retired to Florida, where she became an active member of St. Michael's Church. She was a long-term member of the Legion of Mary in both Pennsylvania and Florida. Helen enjoyed crossword puzzles, dancing to big-band music and as many sweets as she could get her hands on. A beloved second mother, aunt, friend and Godmother, Helen is survived by her nephew, Dennis Haas, niece, Sharon Bradley, great-nieces Jennifer Beck, Jacquelyn O'Connor and Rachael Haas, great-nephew, Brian Mack, Godson, Tom Miller, and Goddaughter, Adele Peffley. Helen devoted her life to the Catholic Church and her family, and she will be greatly missed by many.
