Helen K. Lenhardt's Obituary
Mary “Helen” Kelley was born May 1, 1934 in Cragford, Alabama. Her family moved to Five Points Alabama where she spent her adolescent years on their small family farm with her parents and six siblings. Helen later moved to Macon, Georgia to pursue work in the insurance business, also working as a part-time ballroom dance instructor. Helen met her future husband Peter Lenhardt in Macon where they married in 1957 and started a family. They moved to Pinellas County Florida in 1959 and raised their six children. Helen and her husband Pete were in the golf course business for 40 years. Helen enjoyed playing golf, tennis, traveling, theatre, music, dancing, reading, crosswords, gardening and playing cards. She was also a loyal Alabama football fan. While raising six kids, Helen was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, tennis coach, Junior Women’s Club member and PTA board member of St. Cecelia Interparochial Catholic School and Clearwater Central Catholic High School. Helen was Roman Catholic and a parishioner of St. Cecelia Church. Helen was the happiest when surrounded by her family and she always enjoyed and looked forward to attending the grandkids’ events. Helen cherished her family deeply and graced her home with warmth and love. Helen treasured her longtime friends and the laughter and good times they shared together. She will be dearly missed and always remembered for her love of animals and nature, sense of humor, kind spirit, loving ways and beautiful smile.
