Ida M. Infanti's Obituary
Ida M. Infanti, 94, died peacefully holding hands with her niece, Linda on June 15, 2020 in St. Petersburg, FL. Born in New York City in May,1926, she studied at Immaculata High School in NYC, and graduated from Fordham University. She became a Teacher and worked in the NYC school system teaching “her kids.” She was assigned to schools PS19 in Corona and PS89Q Elmhurst. She also taught at PS 49-The Dorothy Bonowit Kole School gifted program. Aunt Ida cared about her kids making sure they were always dressed properly for school buying clothes for those who couldn’t afford it and a good meal to eat each day. She was a dedicated teacher who looked out for her students, taking an interest in their lives and wanting them to succeed and achieve their goals. She was known to be an avid reader with more than 3000 books in her collection. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Woodside, NY and loved to read, study and debate about religion and current events. She was always full of spunk and knowledge. Her beloved nephew, Freddie Aniag predeceased her, but Ida is survived and loved by her nieces and nephews, Maria Postel, Anthony Aniag, Linda Culmone, Diana Infanti, Barbara Ann O’Dell, Denise Glueck and Andrew Infanti. We love you Aunt Ida and you are missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, Woodside, NY.
