Isabel H Crockford's Obituary
CROCKFORD, Isabel Helena, 96, died peacefully on March 30, 2017 with three of her four children by her side. She leaves behind her children, Kathleen McDonnell; Paula Wingate; Kevin Crockford and Claudia Feldt.8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred and two of her grandchildren, Chuckie and Jessyca. Isabel was born Isabel Helena White in Woburn, Massachusetts on May 26, 1920 and is the daughter of Charles L and Ethel White, both deceased. She married the love of her life, Frederick A Crockford on November 22, 1942. She worked in the GE Plant in Lynn Massachusetts while her husband was serving his country during World War II. They continued their journey together until Fred's death in 1996. After raising their four children in the Northeast, Fred and Isabel retired to Shady Lane Oaks, Clearwater, Florida in 1981 and were one of the first couples to reside in the park. Isabel was an avid bingo and card player and spent many years running the Park Bingo Game where she was affectionately called “The Queen of Bingo”. She also enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night and her regular Sunday morning phone call from her brother-in-law Ron Crockford. Isabel remained in her home until January of this year when she transitioned to Lake House Assisted Living in Largo, Florida. Isabel was a strong, independent woman who was loved by all who had the opportunity to get to know her.
