Isabel D. Peters' Obituary
Isabel D (Issy) Diehl Peters, formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away Sunday, May 10th, 2020, at her home in Palm Harbor, FL, with her husband by her side.
Isabel was born on August 12, 1935, in Clearfield, Pa., the daughter of the late Howard & Mary Gallagher Diehl. She graduated from Cassadaga High School in 1953 and started her career in banking, which she excelled in and had a passion for. Having spent most of her career at HSBC, Issy retired for a short time before going back to work helping Lakeshore Savings Bank open a branch in Lakewood N.Y. After seeing how much fun her husband was having in retirement, she retired for good, and together, they started snow-birding to FL. With her love of math and numbers, She took up the game of Bridge and played as often as possible. When asked when is a good day to play Bridge, she always replied every day. While she is no longer with us, she will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Isabel is survived by her devoted and loving husband 63 years Howard E Peters Jr.; her children: Gayle (Dan) Martin of Ashville NY, son Douglas (Beverly) Peters of Port Orchard WA, her granddaughters: Jennifer Martin and Kate Peters, and sister in law Barbara Diehl of Corry Pa.
In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death by her sister Anna Mae Bauer and her brother Jim Diehl both of Corry Pa.
A small private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Issy may be made to Suncoast Hospice.
