Jacquelyn Donahue Alexander's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Jacquelyn Donahue Alexander
September 16, 1946 – May 25, 2025
God gently put His arms around Jacquie and guided her to her heavenly home on the morning of May 25, 2025, after her battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.
Jacquelyn Donahue Alexander was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on September 16, 1946, to Jack and Phyllis (Betz) Donahue.
On May 28, 1976, she married her faithful and beloved husband, Lewis Alexander. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and enduring partnership.
Jacquie is survived by her loving son, Ryan Alexander, and his wife, Alicia; her cherished granddaughter, Clover; and her caring sister, Cindy Donahue Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marc Keith Donahue.
Jacquie grew up in the Village of Kingston, where she attended Kingston Union High School and Kingston Methodist Church. In 1967, Jacquie moved to Florida, where she began a new chapter of her life. Later, she graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Clearwater, Florida. Jacquie worked for many years as a sales associate at Burdines of Florida, where her warmth, style, and kindness made a lasting impact. In her younger years, she was also an active member of the Pinellas County Young Republicans.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures — tending to her colorful orchids and watching the many birds and butterflies that visited her garden. Her grace, strength, and quiet generosity touched all who knew her. Jacquie was an enthusiastic Ohio State Buckeye fan and spent hours discussing the games with her best friend, Sharon Sims Dailey.
A memorial service to celebrate Jacquie’s life will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 24 W Ing Street, Kingston, OH 45644, on July 19, 2025, with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM and a service to follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jammie Wilhelm of the Kingston Field of Grace Church Congregational Methodist officiating. Refreshments will be served following the service.
Jacquie’s gentle soul and radiant spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
