I just found this guest book, and I have to say the overwhelming words of kindness and adoration towards my father have brought me to tears. They are not only tears of deep sadness that he is gone but mostly tears of love as he truly was a great man. Every day I just try and hold onto the memories as they are what I hold dearest to my heart. My sister, mom, and I appreciate all of the love and support. My dad was one of a kind, someone you just cannot forget…..he will live forever in my memories, my words, and most importantly my soul. We love you Dad!

How inadequate are words to express my feelings of sadness when I heard of Jim's untimely passing! Reality has finally set in and we have lost a great friend and member of our Eljer family! Jim was a great leader who was compassionate and fair to all of his employee's. He will be missed! I can only imagine the great reunion it must of been when Steve and Don were at the gate to welcome Jim home! Julie and family; I hope that all the great memories that Jim left behind along with the love and respect that was truly felt for our friend and leader will substain you during this difficult time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Jim Harris was my "Wedding Planner" & his last evening spent on this earth was at that same event, he & his wife Julie were so involved in the preparation & planning of my wedding (it never would have been the same without them). I am extremely saddened by his passing, but somehow find comfort in knowing that he was able to see all of his hard work & planning go so picture perfect & I am pleased that he was able to enjoy it!! My heart breaks for Julie & his family as I know that they have lost a FANTASTIC man who's heart was larger than this world, may he rest in peace. xo

I was so saddened to hear of Jim's death.He was a wonderful person who cared about others and was a great role model for his employees. I had a pleasure to work with both Jim and Julie for over 8 years. And in all these years Jim had a positive attitude, was compassionate and generous. I want to extend my deepest sympathies to Julie and the Harris family. He will be missed always.

My memories of Jim are of a passionate leader whose direction reverberated throughout the entire Eljer organization in such a positive way, creating a camaraderie among all of us I've yet to witness at any other company. It was an honor to work for Jim, but even better to call him a friend - he showed it is indeed possible to lead with compassion. Jim will forever be remembered as "one of the good ones..." My heartfelt condolences to Julie and the entire Harris Family.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim and severing as member of the Executive team at Eljer Industries. I can truly say those of us that worked with Jim enjoyed the challenges we faced daily and approached them with a positive and can do attitude each day under Jim's leadership. Jim believed in working hard and playing just as hard as a team. He had a keen sense for team work and the understanding that ever employee played a major role in the success of our company. Jim led the company by those standards daily.This news has been difficult for me to grasp as I had lunch with Jim and Julie this past August. We shared stories about the good old days as well as the current state of affairs. I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to spend time with Jim and Julie this summer. He will surely be missed by all those that knew him.

Jim always had an open door and was always a pleasure to work for. He always had a smile & a hello for everyone. I learned alot from Jim in just observing how he handled difficult situations. I will never forget how he would pop jokes off in meetings sometimes & they would be so subtle that it would take a second or two for everyone to get it. I will always appreciate the opportunies that I was given at Eljer & how I was able to grow professionally & personally under his leadership. He was a good person both at work & any from the office. I am very glad that I got to attend a Cowboys game with him which was quite a treat. He will be missed.

Jim is one of the most wonderful, chartible and loving person my husband and I have ever met. We have been friends with Jim and Julie for three years and enjoyed every precious minute we have had with them. Jim was always telling us how much he loved Julie and how he just wanted to be with her. He was always holding her and laughing with her and never apart from her. You could see how much he loved his Julie. And then Mattie his cute little dog. How we miss Jim coming by our patio and stopping to talk with us and then always saying "Mattie we have to go see mama now or she will worry about us if we are gone to long". The Lord Jesus has an angel in heaven now. We will miss you Jim, we were so Blessed to have had you as a true friend the short time that we did. We will see that nothing happens to his wonderful loving wife Julie. We are Blessed to have her as our dear friend. Our hearts are broken. Bobbie and Jerry Rendel

Jim was one of the good guys. No matter the situation, he handled himself with integrity and caring for other people. Even during the toughest times he tried to make it easier for other people. I considered him a friend and a leader. I will miss him very much.
