James Russell Lankton's Obituary
James Russell Lankton, age 83, left his failing body while surrounded by his family to be with his Lord on February 23, 2016. He leaves behind his beloved family; wife, Carol Risk Lankton; son, Steve (Lee Ann) Lankton; daughters, Julie (Tom) Moll and Anne Lankton, granddaughter, Sarah Lankton; brother, John Lankton and a loving extended family.
Jim was born in Waverly, IL and moved to Peoria, IL while still young. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering and served his country in the Air Force. His career in the construction industry began in Illinois and continued in Florida. Jim took pleasure using his strengths to serve his church, community and many civic and charitable groups. He had a way of seeing people’s needs and quietly helping. He loved time with his family and friends, travel, and the simple pleasures of life.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 2:00 pm March 2nd at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, FL.
