Mr James A McLaughlin's Obituary
McLaughlin, James A. “Jim” 79, of Dunedin, passed away June 25, 2015. Jim was born in Derry, Northern Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1957. He became a naturalized citizen in 1964 and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and then worked as a high-voltage electrician. Jim was also a pilot and enjoyed flying small planes during the 60’s. He was a fan of the Manchester United of the English Premier League Football, worked at Bar Harbor Campground for over 20 seasons, and liked to travel, especially back to Ireland. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church since 2000.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy; sons John, James, and Phillip McLaughlin; daughters Annie Walker and Katrina Perciful; stepdaughter Deborah Schaeffer; grandchildren Alex Walker, Andee Murphy, Amber Bates, Ashley Perciful, Bailey McLaughlin, Brett McLaughlin, and Brian McLaughlin; and great-grandchildren Lily Murphy and Reagan Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and James McLaughlin; sisters Helen McHugh, Collette Knight, and Phyllis Flannigan; and grandson AJ Walker.
A visitation will be held from 4 – 5 pm on Sunday June 28th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am on Monday June 29th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
