James M Redmond Sr's Obituary
James Michael Redmond, 84, a retired Civil Engineer and a long-time resident of Pinellas County, entered into rest on Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was married to his beloved wife, Peggy (Stevenson) Redmond, who survives at home.
The son of the late James Foster Redmond and Jacquelline (Malsbury) Johnson, Mike was born on April 16, 1938 in Ancon, Canal Zone, Panama.
Early education for Mike included schools in Panama, China, North Carolina and New Jersey. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
After graduation, Mike accepted a job with W.L. Cobb Construction Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. He worked there for nine years. After which he purchased and managed Lone Pine Mobile Home Park in Dunedin, Florida for 51 years until it was sold. Helping him during these years were his wife of 64 years, Peggy Stevenson Redmond and his children: James Michael Redmond Jr., Cleveland, North Carolina, John Foster Redmond (Cindy), Dunedin, Florida, and Tina Redmond Johnson (Rob), Palm Harbor, Florida.
In 1974 Mr. Redmond purchased his family's farm in Cleveland, North Carolina. Some of his fondest memories are on the farm, where he spent many fun filled summers with his grandmother and cousins.
In addition to his wife and children, he leaves behind two grandsons, Lucas Foster Redmond and Jesse Michael Redmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Foster Redmond and Jacqueline Malsbury Johnson and two sisters, Jacqueline Johnson and Penny Redmond Rudolph.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-6 PM on Wednesday, February 22 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 6PM.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions in Mike's memory may be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760.
