Jane C. Curls' Obituary
Jane Connors Curls, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 95 of Clearwater, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 18, 1930, in Old Forge, PA, to Michael and Martha Connors. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her warmth, kindness, and unconditional love. She had a lifelong love for gardening and always found joy in spending time with her family. She would light up when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit.
Jane moved to Washington DC after graduating from Old Forge High School in 1947. Married John Shelton Curls in 1950 and lived in Suitland, Maryland where she worked for the United States Hydrographic Office. The family moved to Clearwater Florida in 1957. Jane worked for the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole as a clerical supervisor for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
Jane is survived by her children, John Curls (Virginia), Bob Curls (Cindi), Cindy McGarrigle (Scott), her grandchildren, Josh Curls (Becky), Robert Curls (Jennifer), Craig McGarrigle, Brian McGarrigle (Arriane), Adam Curls, Jason Curls (Joanne), Amy Robinson (Matt). Her great grandchildren, Riley Curls, Robert Curls, Cooper Curls, Macee Robinson, Kellen Curls, Mallory Curls, Arabella McGarrigle, Matthew Robinson, Charlotte McGarrigle, Peyton Curls and Roan Curls. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Charles Curls, sister-in-law Emily McCarty and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, John Shelton Curls, her second husband of 10 years, Willis Murray Curls, her parents, her 5 siblings and spouses, Mary Gordon (Frank), Catherine Bainbridge (Art), George Connors (Grace), Helen Curtis (Roy) and Jim Connors (Leah) and her brother and sister in laws, Robert Ingram (Doris), Agnes Young (Jack), Jim Curls (Mary), Juanita Huntsman (Bill), Dottie Curls and Bill McCarty.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home located at 693 South Belcher Road, Clearwater where family and friends can come together to celebrate her life and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation (suncoasthospicefoundation.org), 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760 in Jane Curls’ memory.
