Jane Gibson's Obituary
Jane Query Gibson of Dunedin, Florida passed away November 21st at Suncoast Hospice House. She was born January 14th, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa. and was the daughter of Kenneth R Query and Dorothy C. Query.Survived by Husband Robert P. Gibson, Dunedin, FL son William E. Gibson and wife Adriana of Coral Gables, FL and Kenneth C. Gibson, wife Jennifer and grandson Parker W. Gibson of Palm Harbor, FL., and Brother James A. Query of Green Valley, AZ. a cousin and many nieces and nephews. Jane was pre deceased by son Griffin T. Gibson.Jane was an avid volunteer and member of Dunedin Junior League, Dunedin Fine Arts Center, Dunedin High School SAC Committee, Dunedin National Little League and Little League District 12 Florida. She was so well known for her devoted time in the DNLL concession stand.Jane was a Municipal Bond Trader in Atlanta, GA, then returning to Pittsburgh she became a Loan Officer for Pittsburgh National Bank until moving to Florida.Developing cancer in 1984, Jane was a pioneer patient of the National Cancer Institute in the Colon-Rectal protocol, where she was treated with TILs for her widespread metastatic colorectal cancer throughout her abdomen at the NCI and had a very good response. She survived for 22 years since doctors took out her three metastatic tumors, which proved to be one of the cures for melanoma. From the NCI she went to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute where she was a volunteer patient for Dr. Michael Lotze, participating in studies there.The family would like to thank all of her Doctors and nurses through the years, as well as Suncoast Hospice House, Brookside, for their care during her last days.Services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 24th, at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 705 Michigan Boulevard, Dunedin.In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent to the DAMP Laboratory of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute www.damp.pitt.edu/ or Suncoast Hospice www.thehospicefoundation.orgwww.mossfeasterdunedin.com
