Janet Irene Clay's Obituary
Janet Irene Clay (Slee) passed away peacefully at her home in Dunedin, FL on the morning of September 1, 2017.
Janet was born to parents George King Slee and Beatrice Ella Slee (Dixon) on December 31, 1956. She always held family first in her heart and viewed her friends as family. Janet was loved dearly by her husband of 36 years, Rob Clay, daughter Pam (Luis Pou) Clay, grandson Sebastian Pou, son Matthew (Dana) Clay, sister Charlene (Bob) Crawford, brother Ken (Sharon) Slee, brother Marvin (Roseanne) Slee, twin sister Jeanine (Jim) Whipple, all of Rob’s brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides of the family. In passing, Janet is joining mother Beatrice, father George, step-mother Blanche Slee, sister Charlotte Maurer, and Charlotte's husband Mike.
After retiring from General Motors, Rob and Janet traveled the country, before settling in Dunedin, FL where she enjoyed painting, gardening, crocheting, and yoga. To have known Janet was to love her, and to love her is to miss her. Her bright smile was infectious and her big heart touched many lives.
A celebration of Janet’s life will take place in Michigan at a later date, to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that friends make a donation in Janet's name to a charity of their choice.
