Janice "Jan" T. Carr's Obituary
Janice (Jan) T. Carr, age 76, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014. She was born on August 14, 1937, in Reidsville, North Carolina to the Late George and Cavell Trent. She graduated from Reidsville High School and attended East Carolina University. She married the late Alvis B. Carr Jr. on August 25, 1957 and soon moved to Panama where they lived until returning to the States in 1976. She is survived by two children, Bryan Carr;Elaine Reedy and husband Brad; two brothers, Butch Trent and wife Stephanie; Danny Trent; sister-in-law Judy Bell; 7 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and nephews. She is the beloved "Grandma" or "JaMa" to six grandchildren, Alica Thomas, Stephanie Carr, Erik and Taylor Reedy, Joshua Walton and Janice Walton; and four great-grandchildren, Lily Reel, Alliana Thomas, Kinleigh Schuyler and Silas Thomas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol C. Walton. Jan loved to travel and lived in and visited many exciting places. She was a kid at heart and loved anything Disney. She was an avid reader, loved to watch movies, her favorite cartoon character E'ore and talking to people. She was on a first name basis with people all over her community from the cashier and bagger at the local grocery store, to the teller at the bank, to the manager at her favorite McDonald's, to the mechanic who worked on her car. She never knew a stranger and people loved "Miss Carr". Godspeed Mom as you make your final journey. Rest now and be peaceful. Know that the ache from the absence of your touch will be forever felt.
