Jared O. Gonzalez's Obituary
Jared O. Gonzalez, 23 of Clearwater went home to the Lord on June 18, 2016. Jared was a graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School. He maintained a 4.6 GPA in addition to many other accomplishments: Jared was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and was in the International Baccalaureate Program. While in high school, Jared took college-level courses at St. Petersburg College. He was involved with Varsity cross country, football, and he was the captain of the weight-lifting team. Jared qualified for the FHSAA 2011 State Weightlifting Championship. After school, he loved martial arts, advancing to second-degree black belt. Jared also volunteered at the Largo Public Library tutoring students in Algebra II. After graduation Jared was accepted and attended one year at NYU.
Jared is Predeceased by his grandfather, Carmelo and great grandmother, Maximina; Survivors include his parents Heriberto and Sharon; siblings Genevieve and Justin; nephew Yiore; aunts Bridgette, Janet, Dinah, Tricia, Kristina, Carmen and Betty; uncles Wesley Jr., Richard, Gus, Fernando, George, and Robert; grandparents Wesley Sr., Genevieve, Diana, and Yvonne; and great grandmother Mathilda.
Since NYU Jared held various server positions in the hospitality sector. His most recent position as server at a local fine dining establishment was met with outstanding reviews. During his free time, Jared continued his passion for strength training and body sculpting. Jared took great lengths to eat healthy, care for his skin, and nourish his gorgeous hair. However, what best defines Jared was his compassion and his selflessness. Throughout these difficult times, the steady flow of family, friends, and even strangers that have come in contact with Jared have all felt the purity and beauty of his spirit. The stories that have been shared with our family of Jared’s (aka Jay) impact in their lives will forever leave indelible striations of love and hope in our hearts.
